Fred Wolodiger MD, FACS

Dr. Fred Wolodiger received his MD degree at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He trained in general surgery at the University of California, San Diego and at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, New York. His vascular surgery training took place at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where he has been in practice sine 1987. Dr. Wolodiger is board certified in General Surgery and has the Certificate for Special Competency in General Vascular Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the New Jersey Vascular Society. Dr. Wolodiger has published on a variety of vascular surgical subjects.

Since the development of minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Wolodiger has been on the forefront of surgical application of the promising technique of laparoscopy. He has special training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery and vast experience with elective and emergency gallbladder and bowel procedures. He also has 25 years of expertise in wound healing problems, limb salvage surgery and small vessel vein bypass surgery, with exceptional results. His modest and gentle manner is appreciated by his patients.

Dr. Wolodiger is a marathon class runner who has been sighted recently in Boston and New York City races, near the front of the pack

He lives in Englewood, with his wife and daughter, within running distance of Englewood Hospital.
